We strive to create a family friendly site and shoppping environment and know that many enjoy fairy gardening with children.  While we always love to encourage fairy gardening children we ask you to keep in mind that our miniature fairy garden products are designed for the outdoors and are not toys.  This page addresses frequently asked questions about child safety and product origin.

Child Safety Concerns

Recent events have raised concern over lead and chemical levels in manufacured toys.  Our staff share these concerns.

Our fairy garden products are not toys!  Small miniatures pose potential choking hazards and are not suitable for small children.  Miniatures are created for outdoor use and miniature display and are handled differently than traditional toys.  We are not privy to all details of the manufacturing process on mini garden items.

We CAN tell you that we deal only with responsible companies and none of our products have been recalled.  We stay up to date on all recalls and product updates.

The manufacturers of our miniature animals, fantasy figurines, fairy dolls, trinket boxes, tooth fairy boxes and lunch pails have reported that their products are free of harmful lead.  Any item that is specifically targeted for children or as a toy is monitored carefully for lead and chemical conerns.

Many of our items are additional sealed with polyurthenane or water sealant to help protect your miniature gardens outside.  If you would rather not have your prodcuts treated for outdoor use, please contact us for a custom order.

Age Restrictions:

You will find appropriate age restrictions (provided by the manufacturers) on relevant product pages.  Other items are not designed as toys.  ALL miniatures are small items and pose potential choking hazards.  These items are not suitable for small children.

Handcrafted Items:

Any time you see the word handcrafted in our handcrafted product descriptions those items have been created from scratch right here in sunny Coarsegold, California.  Whenever possible we use local materials many of which are sourced from California.  Other items are imported from all over the world and are not sourced from one international location.

Other Notes:

While fairy gardening is a great activity to enjoy with children, please supervise any children.  Buildings are heavy, use caution when handling and moving yourself and assist children.  Buildings are not toys!
